Terms of Use

You must be at least 18 years old[OWNER TO CONFIRM] and able to enter into a binding agreement to hold an account. Accounts are created by the academy for enrolled students; self-service sign-up is not offered.

You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us straight away at support@spreadasmileacademy.ca if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission. Keep your name and email address accurate so that we can reach you about your enrollment.

When your enrollment is active we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to view the course materials made available to you through the portal, for your own private study only. All reading materials, protected documents, slides, videos, flashcards, question banks, mock examinations and their arrangement remain the property of the academy or its licensors and are protected by Canadian and international copyright law. No ownership passes to you.

You agree not to, and not to help anyone else to:

• share your login details or let anyone else use your account;
• copy, download, screen-record, photograph, print, scrape or otherwise capture protected content except where the portal itself offers that function;
• publish, sell, lend, upload or redistribute any material from the portal, in whole or in part, in any medium, including study groups and messaging apps;
• remove or obscure watermarks, attribution or notices, or bypass or attempt to bypass any access control, licence check, viewer protection or video DRM.

Protected content is served with per-student attribution and access records (see the Privacy Policy). We may use those records to investigate suspected sharing.

Each enrollment gives access to the purchased course for a fixed term shown at the time of purchase and on your dashboard. The term ends at the stated date and time in the academy’s time zone (America/Vancouver), after which access to that course’s materials, including any mock examination in progress, stops automatically. Your progress records are kept as described in the Privacy Policy, and access can be restored by purchasing a new enrollment where one is offered. We may change which materials a course contains while keeping its stated purpose; we do not promise that any particular item will remain available for the whole term.

You agree to use the portal lawfully and fairly. In particular you must not:

• probe, scan or test the portal for vulnerabilities, or interfere with its operation, security logging or other students’ use;
• use automated tools to access, harvest or bulk-request content or questions;
• misrepresent your identity, or impersonate the academy, its staff or any examination body;
• upload or transmit anything unlawful, infringing, malicious or containing identifiable patient information.

Mock examinations are study tools. Attempts are recorded and may be limited in number or time; results are not an official qualification or a prediction of any examination outcome.

We may suspend or end your access, without refund, if you break these Terms, if we reasonably suspect account sharing or redistribution of content, or where the law requires. You may stop using the portal at any time and may ask us to close your account by writing to support@spreadasmileacademy.ca. Ending your access does not affect our rights in the materials or any obligations that have already arisen, including under the Refund & Cancellation Policy.

Spread A Smile Academy is an independent education provider. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the National Dental Examining Board of Canada (NDEB), any provincial or territorial dental regulatory authority, or any university. Our materials are educational study aids only: they are not official examination content, and using them does not guarantee eligibility for, admission to, or success in any examination or licensing process.

The portal and its materials are provided “as is” for educational purposes. To the fullest extent permitted by law we exclude all implied warranties and limit our total liability to you to the amount you paid for the affected enrollment.[OWNER TO CONFIRM]

The portal sets only the essential cookies needed to keep you signed in and to protect your session. We do not use advertising or third-party analytics cookies. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

We may update these Terms. The current version and its effective date are always shown at the top of this page; material changes will be announced in the portal or by email before they take effect. Continued use after that date means you accept the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada[OWNER TO CONFIRM] and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and any dispute will be heard by the courts of that province.
